Association News
Increased subscription rates

At the SRA Annual General Meeting in Perth in November 2007 members agreed to an increase in the annual subscription rates – an additional £3 on an individual subscription and an additional £5 on an institutional subscription. The subscription rates have not been increased for some time and the Association continues to rely to a large extent on the services of volunteers, for which we are very grateful. Officers are also increasingly using e-mail to circulate information thereby reducing costs. However, it was felt that a rise would ensure that the quality of services to members, and the standard of the journal Scottish Archives, remains high.

Another church history conference

Fresh from running a successful conference on religious records in Perth last autumn, the Association will be assisting the Ayrshire Federation of Historical Societies in running a conference on non-conformist church history at Troon on Friday 12 September. Speakers will include the Association’s own Alex Ritchie on the naval policy of the Free Kirk! Further details and a booking form will be sent in the summer.
