Archival Summaries


SCOTTISH FISHERIES MUSEUM

The Scottish Fisheries Museum holds an archive of miscellaneous records and photographs relating to the Scottish fishing industry. The National register of Archives for Scotland has two surveys relating to records in the museum (survey numbers NRAS1112 and NRAS1116). NRAS1112 is a general survey of archives in the museum, while NRAS1116 covers the records of J N Miller & Sons. According to the National Register of Archives for Scotland, the plans and the technical drawings are with the museum while the administrative records are with John Mowlem (Shipbuilding) Ltd in the Wirral.

Over 13,000 images of Scottish fishing – boats, harbours, people etc. from across Scotland c 1880s - present
 

The records are housed in the Scottish Fisheries Museum, St Ayles, Harbourhead, Anstruther, Fife KY10 3AB
Access to the Reference Library and Archive by prior appointment only.
